OWNRYDE REFUNDS, DISPUTES & CHARGEBACK POLICY
Version 2.0 — Effective January 2026
This Refunds, Disputes & Chargeback Policy (“Policy”) applies to all users of the OwnRyde Platform (“Platform”), including Riders and Drivers (“Users,” “you,” or “your”).
OwnRyde, Inc. (“OwnRyde,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a technology platform that connects Riders with independent Drivers.
Payments made through the Platform are processed through third-party payment providers such as Stripe or similar payment processors.
1. General Payment Policy
Payments processed through the Platform may include:
- Ride fares
- Platform or booking fees
- Tolls
- Cancellation fees
- Waiting time adjustments
- Damage-related charges where applicable
- Other authorized charges related to Platform activity
Refunds, disputes, and payment adjustments are reviewed in accordance with:
- Platform policies
- Payment processor requirements
- Fraud prevention procedures
- Applicable laws and regulations
2. Fare Estimates & Final Charges
Fare estimates shown before booking are estimates only and may change based on:
- Route changes
- Traffic conditions
- Waiting time
- Tolls
- Pickup or destination modifications
- Ride duration
- Marketplace or operational conditions
Final charges may differ from original estimates where permitted by applicable law.
3. Rider Refund Requests
Riders may request review of charges in limited situations including:
- Incorrect fare calculations
- Duplicate charges
- Technical processing errors
- Unauthorized charges
- Significant service-related concerns
- Documented policy violations
Refund requests should be submitted through available support channels within a reasonable time after the ride or transaction.
Refund eligibility is determined at OwnRyde’s discretion, subject to applicable laws and payment processor requirements.
4. No Automatic Refunds
Refunds are not automatically provided for:
- Completed rides
- Traffic delays
- Route preferences
- Driver availability limitations
- Marketplace conditions
- Rider cancellations outside eligible windows
- Dissatisfaction unrelated to policy violations
- Circumstances outside Platform control
Transportation services are independently provided by Drivers.
5. Driver Earnings Adjustments
Drivers acknowledge that approved:
- Refunds
- Payment reversals
- Charge corrections
- Fraud investigations
- Dispute resolutions
may result in:
- Earnings adjustments
- Temporary payout holds
- Reversals of associated earnings where applicable
OwnRyde reserves the right to temporarily delay or review payouts during active investigations or fraud reviews.
6. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes
Users agree to first attempt to resolve payment concerns through Platform support before initiating external chargebacks where reasonably possible.
Initiating chargebacks or payment disputes through financial institutions may result in:
- Temporary account restrictions
- Investigation of account activity
- Delayed payouts
- Suspension or termination for fraudulent or abusive activity
OwnRyde reserves the right to dispute fraudulent or abusive chargebacks with financial institutions or payment processors.
7. Fraud Prevention
OwnRyde may investigate:
- Suspicious payment activity
- Repeated refund requests
- Chargeback abuse
- Unauthorized transactions
- Fraudulent account activity
- Payment manipulation attempts
OwnRyde may:
- Restrict Platform access
- Suspend accounts
- Delay payouts
- Require additional verification
- Report suspected fraud where appropriate
8. Processing Times
Approved refunds or reversals are processed through third-party payment providers and financial institutions.
Processing times may vary depending on:
- Banks
- Card issuers
- Payment processors
- Financial institutions
OwnRyde is not responsible for delays caused by third-party payment providers or financial institutions.
9. Platform Fees
Platform fees, booking fees, subscription fees, or similar charges may be non-refundable except:
- Where required by law
- Where otherwise determined by OwnRyde
- In cases involving technical or billing errors
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, OwnRyde shall not be liable for:
- Bank processing delays
- Payment processor outages or errors
- Chargeback penalties
- Financial institution actions
- Fraudulent transactions
- Payment disputes between Users
- Transportation-related losses
- Indirect or consequential damages
11. Policy Updates
OwnRyde may modify this Policy at any time.
Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of revised policies.
